Hon. Justice Dr. Bamwine (PJ) addressing the gathering at the Tororo CM court open day

Hundreds of court users, members of the public, JLOS partners, as well as the civic and political leadership turned up at the Tororo Chief Magistrates Court for the first Court Open Day in the area that was held on Thursday May 4, 2017.

Presided over by the Hon the Principal Judge, Hon. Justice Dr. Yorokamu Bamwine, the day was organized to sensitize the public in and around Tororo about the new access to justice initiatives in the courts. Discussions centered on Plea Bargain, Mediation and Small Claims Procedure. The honorable PJ promised to return to Tororo soon to officially launch the initiatives.

The honorable PJ also heard a lot of complaints and feedback from the litigants about Tororo Court services. The crowd engaged him up to 4pm in an emotive and frank question and answer session. The litigants called fo rregular Court Open days.
